About

Trigger Warning was started by five writer friends as a place to feature stories that had zero chance of acceptance in either conservative Midwestern journals or PC liberal ones, and as a journal not bound by the literary fiction vs. genre fiction divide.

Trigger Warning is a zone for the full spectrum of writing: from love, bliss, and exhilaration, all the way over to divorce, insanity, drug addiction, war, and death. First and foremost, we are looking for good writing in whatever genre. Meaning, we are not interested in shock content. Though we are open to stories that have ignorant characters, criminals, and psychotics, we are not interested in stories that exist to promote racism, sexism, homophobia, ageism, etc. We are starting as an online journal and hope to do an annual print anthology of our favorite stories sometime in the future. The editors will post their own stories to begin to give writers an idea of what we’re aiming for.
